Perceptive Eyes

Montauk Light House, 6-30-14

I just noticed all these angels and phoenixes flying in the sky over the Montauk Lighthouse?!! What a beautiful balance of the ephemeral with the solid, etherial with earthy, the magical with the rational! These two contrasts exist simultaneously, at all times, in every situation, and the beauty of being human is that we get to choose which to focus our attention on, and how to balance the two. On Monday when I was here I only noticed the lighthouse and the beautiful day we were having. Now that I'm back to Florida the angels and the phoenixes are the obvious focal points of the picture. As we go into this big holiday weekend, I wonder what I will see (or choose to see) in each "picture" moment?
