Rebirth!

Machu Picchu

What is it about South America? I just had the pleasure of spending a month in Peru and Brazil. It has been an almost lifelong dream of mine, ever since I read the Celestine Prophesy just after college, to visit Machu Picchu. I knew I would feel the energy of the magical mountains, and receive some kind of ancient insight. Well, it was better than that - I was reborn!

It was definitely a combination of time spent in Peru, and the rolling hills of Abadiania, Brazil that contributed to my new self. In Machu Picchu I felt the precision and passion in the great stones of an ancient civilization that lived by a concept called, "ayni" which means reciprocity. Simply, if you give me something, I give you something. Their entire culture was based around this mentality, so they were motivated to give rather than motivated to GET, how revolutionary! You can feel this...love in the stones, the ancient roads, the buildings, the markets, and above all in the mountains.

The moment I stepped off the train in the Sacred Valley I could feel a different energy as I stood in what felt like the center of a big bowl of mountains. My legs and arms tingled, my center felt...alive, activated, despite my aching muscles from climbing the steep Huayna Picchu the day before. I felt electrified, comforted, and so very clear. This feeling persisted all 3 days I was there, and the sensations and meditations and beauty I was inundated with forever changed me. I learned to ask permission before climbing a mountain - they really like this. I learned that mountains speak. One spoke to me, she appeared as a sweet round grandmother, and foretold of what I would be learning in Brazil. (Yes, I have trouble believing this happened myself!) A river spoke to me and introduced me to the powers within my heart. Every moment was rich and delicious. I cannot wait to return.

In Brazil I spent 2.5 weeks on a mountain of pure quartz crystal. The charge I felt just being there was insane - very different from the Peru energy, but just as electric, perhaps a faster zing feeling in contrast to a steady round feeling. Here I learned about fear, crystals, and Martin Luther King appeared in several of my meditations. I cannot quite describe the connection he and I have, but it is profound.

There are so many details which I plan to share in future blogs. For now, just bask in the glory of the vibes emitting from these rich, green Andes mountains in the photos. They were taken when I was standing on Huayna Picchu, the tall neighboring mountain of Machu Picchu.

May your greens get greener, your brights get brighter, and the warm sunlight find its way to your face.

Love and awe,

Lucinda
